Troy, also known as Ilion or Ilium, was a city in ancient Greece that was the setting for the Trojan War. It is famous for being the subject of Homer's epic poem, the Iliad, which tells the story of the war between the Greeks and the Trojans. Troy is located in modern-day Turkey, near the Dardanelles strait.
